Betty Rollins joined Arbor Realty Trust, Inc. on January 3, 2017. She was hired as SVP, Originator to focus primarily on HUD/FHA mortgage insured loan originations.
Ms. Rollins has originated and closed over $1 Billion in FHA insured loans, including 221(d)4 new construction and substantial rehabilitation, 223(f) refinances, 232 new construction/232(f) refinance and FHA 242 acute care hospitals. She is experienced in tax-exempt bond and LIHTC financings.
She began her FHA career in FHA underwriting as VP at ACR, a HUD/FHA lender in Atlanta, GA. Later, she and a business partner formed Evergreen Capital Consultants, Inc., which acted as correspondent to TRI Capital in San Francisco, CA and Collateral Mortgage, in Birmingham, AL. She was approved by HUD among the first Multifamily and Healthcare Accelerated Processing (MAP) underwriters.
She was later hired by PNC Multifamily Capital to establish an office in Atlanta, GA. As VP of Originations, she worked closely with the PNC Affordable Housing division based in Louisville, KY, to develop financing opportunities in the Southeastern U.S. Ms. Rollins also helped to pioneer PNC’s Hospital Finance program, utilizing FHA 242 mortgage insurance. Betty participated in the formation of BuildSmart, a brand name for a strategic marketing alliance targeting rural hospitals in need of financing for replacement or expansion.
Ms. Rollins was subsequently hired by Oppenheimer Multifamily Capital (Opco) to assist in the establishment and expansion of its Atlanta, GA office. While at Opco, Ms. Rollins financed multifamily and healthcare properties, including a $77 Million healthcare system refinance and expansion.
Ms. Rollins was one of the founders of the Southeast Mortgagee Advisory Council (SMAC). She has participated as an officer since SMAC’s inception, and she served as President from 2015-2016.
